Einar Selvik has founded the group Wardruna in 2002. After the release of their debut album in 2009, they have patiently
established themselves internationally as important communicators of Norse and Nordic cultural heritage.
During the last three years Wardruna and Einar have reached a wider audience through his substantial musical involvement in History Channel’s hit TV series Vikings.

Fantastic album, really pushes the genre and demonstrates a unique collection of sounds and styles. The vocal work in this album is on point as you come to expect from the wardruna frontman and Bjornson is a new found favorite of mine.

This might be my favourite of Heilung. They've improved a bit on their later releases but their debut is still much meaner, and darker. Maria's amazing voice obviously steals the show but I also quite like Kai's too, especially on the live performance. In fact I'd say get LIFA over this IMO. The spoken word bits are really cool to hear proto-germanic in use but for relistening purposes they are going to be a bit obtrusive. Nevertheless the proper music here is on continual repeat for me.
